Live Shopify store · Um, hello.
From brand direction to a working shop
I delivered Kingston Tallow through Um, hello., the Montréal studio I co-founded. My scope covered the logo design, visual brand system, copy, Shopify design and development, product setup, integrations and launch. Kingston Tallow makes the products; my work shaped how people discover, understand and shop them.
Keep the maker in the picture
Kingston Tallow is an Ontario small-batch skincare business. I designed the logo and developed the visual system around the product labels, using warm paper textures, green ink, olive surfaces and a berry accent. Rounded typography and expressive italic headings give the store a conversational voice, while real jars keep the products recognizable.
The accompanying style and brand guide documents the palette, typography, imagery and copy principles so the identity can continue beyond the storefront.
A little matchmaking before the product page
The interactive balm finder asks two or three questions about use, formula and size, then links to an appropriate product variant. It uses ingredient preferences and current stock, without an email gate or a medical diagnosis. Shoppers can also compare formulas or go straight to the full range.
Make the practical details easy to find
Product pages bring together imagery, size options, price, availability, ingredients and use guidance. The experience also includes a jar-and-stick pairing, local pickup enquiries and a maker story. Product and policy information stay specific to the business rather than relying on generic skincare promises.
